Battery Council International says 45X protects U.S. jobs and competitiveness
Battery Council International (BCI), the leading trade association for the North American battery industry, strongly urges Congressional Republicans to support U.S. battery manufacturers by preserving the Section 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Credits provisions.
BCI strongly supports the House Ways and Means Committee’s vote to preserve the 45X credits in the current budget package – critical policy for growing American battery manufacturing dominance. While BCI believes certain key provisions still need refinement, we sincerely appreciate the commitment from Congress to building a strong, secure, and resilient energy storage manufacturing sector.
The domestic battery industry has powered America’s cars, trucks, material handling equipment, data centers, and the U.S. military. However, American leadership faces deep challenges from foreign government policies that disadvantage U.S. manufacturers and could harm U.S. security.
In just the last two years, the 45X credits have spurred substantial growth in American energy storage manufacturing and jobs nationwide that would not have occurred otherwise, and prompted billions more in announced investments. These credits provide essential support for American battery to invest in future success.
Battery Council International and its 140 members stand ready to support Congress and President Trump in strengthening American manufacturing by preserving these vital credits that keep good-paying jobs in our nation’s heartland.
