Global Energy Storage Provider Recognized for Awareness Campaign

LOUISVILLE, Ky.– April 25 – C&D Technologies has been awarded the 2023 BCI Amplify Award for communications excellence. This is the second year Battery Council International (BCI) has presented the award in recognition of the lead battery industry’s most innovative and effective marketing and communications campaigns that promote the value of the industry.

C&D Technologies, headquartered in Horsham, Pennsylvania, is a global leader in energy storage solutions and services for the uninterruptible power supply. This award recognizes C&D’s “Power of the Plus” campaign to launch their latest innovation, Pure Lead Plus batteries, for backup power in critical data center applications.

This fully integrated communications campaign educates data center engineers and OEMs about proprietary pure lead technology that can optimize data center performance while reducing overall operating costs and achieving sustainability goals. The Power of the Plus campaign sets the groundwork for future C&D campaigns.

“C&D is committed to excellence in the manufacturing and safety of lead batteries,” says Laurie Oswald, chief commercial officer. “This campaign focuses on the advanced technology inside our newest battery to show that innovation is alive and well in lead batteries. We are proud to deliver a safe and effective solution to help data center engineers reduce their footprint, decrease cooling costs and overall lower their cost of ownership. This well-planned and executed marketing campaign delivered our message in a creative and impactful way.”

“Innovation is important to our industry, not only in product development, but also in communication and creative thinking to promote the essential and sustainable nature of lead batteries,” said Donna Snyder, vice president of marketing and advertising at East Penn Manufacturing Co., and chair of the BCI marketing committee, “Through the marketing campaign by C&D Technologies, those critical attributes were effectively and strategically communicated in a way that supports the overall industry and its important message.”
