Despite the very real technological and political challenges, a clean energy future is in our reach, and America is ready to lead the way. NCEW Virtual Policymaker Symposium: Critical Minerals and Supply Chain Security

Wednesday, September 27, 2023, 1:00pm – 5:00pm

The Policymakers Symposium is a robust program featuring expert panel discussions and keynote remarks on the latest in climate and energy policy, highlighting leaders in their fields.

During the virtual September 27th panel discussion on Critical Minerals and Supply Chain Security, participants explored the top concerns facing the global clean energy transition including adequate domestic sourcing, inventing substitutes, and recycling and reprocessing, in relation to national security – and funding for innovation.

Jeremy Furr, representing Stryten Energy and a BCI featured speaker on the panel, explained how lead batteries model a high standard for recycling and a circular economy which results in keeping materials in the U.S. rather than exporting them to foreign recyclers.

Jeremy Furr

Senior Vice President of Strategic Sourcing, Stryten Energy

Jeremy Furr is Senior Vice President of Strategic Sourcing for Stryten Energy, a provider of stored electrical-energy solutions for transportation and industrial markets. He leads the Strategic Sourcing, Procurement and Logistics teams responsible for the purchasing of materials and chemicals used in the company’s manufacturing plants.

Mr. Furr has more than 22 years’ experience in the energy industry in various leadership roles. His experience includes roles at General Electric (in the Gas Power, Power Services, Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy groups), as well as quality and operations management for GE’s nuclear energy business. Mr. Furr is a member of the Association of Battery Recyclers (ABR) and has been with Stryten Energy for over 5 years.
