Missouri University of Science and Technology’s Lead Battery Solar Microgrids

The Advanced Lead Acid Battery Consortium (ALABC) has joined other members of the Missouri S&T Microgrid Industrial Consortium to provide resources for the construction of an advanced lead battery microgrid at the Missouri S&T EcoVillage.

Two on-campus high-tech homes will act as ”living laboratories” for a three-year study on renewable energy sources – and storage – for communities of the future.

Batteries provide grid stability and drive efficient use of energy generated from renewable and carbon-based sources. Long-duration battery storage can be scaled in size and duration to meet the needs of utilities, commercial and industrial, as well as military bases.
