The global battery industry is ready to rock, converging on Nashville this spring for the BCI Convention + Power Mart Expo on May 3-6, 2026, at the Omni Nashville Hotel.
Hosted by Battery Council International, the longest-running battery event in the world will celebrate more than a century of leadership in energy storage. The 2026 event marks a pivotal moment for a battery industry in transformation and a marketplace ripe with new opportunities.
“The BCI Convention is where the industry gathers to plot a path for the future, and this year’s event is more important than ever,” said BCI President and Executive Director Roger Miksad. “The centrality of batteries to global economies is creating significant private and public investments and incredible market opportunities. Simultaneously, shifts in global policy have created volatility in materials markets and uncertainty around supply chains. The BCI Convention in Nashville is the best place to dive into the trends, learn from colleagues, and ensure your business is set up for success in 2026 and beyond.”

The BCI Convention has brought together manufacturers, suppliers, recyclers, and innovators in common purpose for more than 100 years. The industry’s most influential decision-makers are always in attendance, providing an unrivalled platform for strategic conversations and business-building deals.

This year’s programming includes more than 30+ speakers. Dynamic panel discussions will address policy developments, technical innovations, and emerging market opportunities. The convention will also feature BCI’s exclusive data-driven forecasts for automotive and industrial markets — data unavailable anywhere else— and technical workshops exploring the latest advancements in lead, lithium, sodium, and flow battery technology.
And as usual, the heart of the event is BCI’s Power Mart Expo where more than 800 attendees from 28 countries will explore cutting-edge products, services, and technologies. The expo floor provides exhibitors direct access to key executives from major battery manufacturers, with dedicated networking hours including coffee breaks, luncheons, and the popular Power Hour reception. As a special feature of Nashville’s artistry, this year’s Power Mart will showcase national touring artists providing live entertainment.

The convention program extends beyond technical sessions and expo floor interactions. Special features include the BCI Amplify Award, recognizing excellence in industry communication, and the BCI Innovation Award honoring breakthrough technologies. A Poster Research Showcase spotlights emerging talent from undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral researchers advancing battery science. And perhaps most importantly, BCI will present its Distinguished Service Awards as part of the event – the organization’s highest honor. Established in 1945, this award recognizes individuals who have made a sustained, long-term, and meaningful contribution to the advancement of both the association and the battery industry.
Registration is now open, but space is limited so act now. Only several exhibitor packages for the Power Mart Expo remain. Learn more at convention.batterycouncil.org or contact Events@batterycouncil.org for more information on registration or exhibitor opportunities.
