# Battery Council International (BCI)

> Battery Council International (BCI) is the leading trade association for the North American battery industry, representing manufacturers, recyclers, and suppliers across the full battery supply chain. BCI advocates for responsible battery manufacturing, use, and recycling, with a focus on energy storage, sustainability, and a low-carbon future. BCI is headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia (277 S Washington St, Suite 210 #1018), and is led by President and Executive Director Roger Miksad.

BCI was founded over 100 years ago and has been the collective voice of the battery industry ever since. Its members include battery manufacturers, recyclers, raw material suppliers, and equipment/service providers. BCI achieves its mission through communication, education, scientific research, and legislative and regulatory engagement.
